Standing 89-1/2" tall, weighing over 1000 lbs., and featuring a 27-1/2" swing, this Heavy-Duty Gearhead Drill Press is built for the most demanding jobs. The massive 6" diameter column provides the necessary rigidity to ensure repeatable accuracy -- even when drilling 1-1/2" diameter holes at high speeds! The MT#4 spindle has 7" of travel, 18 speeds from 60 - 1740 RPM, 2-speed automatic downfeed, power tapping with manual clutch, and a tooling ejection feature for fast bit changes. The cast iron table is nearly 2" thick and features a unique 22" x 19-1/16" L-shaped work surface, five 5/8" T-slots, and coolant drainage troughs. The maximum spindle-to-table distance is 30-3/4", and if that's not enough, the table rotates out of the way so that the workpiece can mount to the precision-ground base table using its two 5/8" T-slots. This colossal workhorse also includes a built-in coolant system to keep metal cool and drilling precise!

The G0823 also features the luxury of auto downfeed, and the table has rack-and-pinion mounts to allow for 360 of rotation, 60 tilt, 23-1/2' of vertical travel, and two 1/2' T-slots to allow for exact positioning of your workpiece. We've equipped the head with the same rack-and-pinion elevation controls as the table–adjustable 7-13/16' vertically, and capable of 360 rotation around the column. And, to go all out, the precision-ground work surface on the base contains two more 1/2' T-slots, ensuring that every surface can be put to use!
